A perfect finish to the 2016 season

Hi everybody!

The season has ended in one of the best ways possible: with a podium at home. It was incredible to feel the fan’s love as we celebrated winning the title in front of the Fanclub, and with the giant hand they’d prepared. What an atmosphere at the end of the race, definitely one to remember!

Really, Sunday didn’t begin well. It was a difficult start, but I eventually hit my stride and was riding very fast in the final laps. However, I wasn’t able to catch Jorge up. I have to congratulate him because he was outstanding the entire weekend.

After the race, we enjoyed the gala and dinner with the whole team, which we celebrate every year with Repsol when the World Championship finishes. This season I was particularly focused on not making mistakes. Now a key phase is beginning, when we start to lay the foundations for next year.

Yesterday we started with the first tests of the 2017 pre-season. It was a good experience with the engines we tested in Aragón and Misano. We’ll finish the tests this afternoon. I look forward to telling all of you how they went next week.

After the tests, we’ll be in Sant Andreu de la Barca on Thursday to visit the school that won Repsol Team goes back to school. It’ll be a fun day and I hope the students enjoy having all of the Repsol Honda Team riders there. If you don’t want to miss it, you can follow it online with @box_repsol.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK from Natasha

Hi, Marc! Congrats on your great year! My question is: What do you think you’ve improved on this year in MotoGP? Thanks from Argentina!

Hi, Natasha.
I think that what I’ve improved on the most this year has been managing the championship better. I’ve been less impulsive and more meticulous in some Grand Prix.

Talk to you soon!
Marc Márquez
